TeamDrive Client 3.0.066 beta2 - (WIN, Mac, Linux)

Postby Detlef Schmuck » 17 Mar 2012, 15:43

TeamDrive 3 is a new development and no update to TeamDrive 2. TeamDrive 3 can be parallel installed together with TeamDrive 2. Because of the higher encryption in TeamDrive 3 you can not be invited from TeamDrive 2 into TeamDrive 3 and vice versa. TeamDrive 3 clients are required to communicate with the new TeamDrive smartphone apps for iOS and Android.

Fixed problems in 3.0.066 beta2
- fixed a problem which occurred when limited versioning was enabled

Fixed problems in 3.0.065 beta
- changed encoding to UTF16 (update from 3.0.060 and earlier requires a space restore)
- gui improvements
- fixed autostart

Known bugs to be fixed before the final release
- 10% extra cpu load when side window opened (Mac OS only), (interim solution -> close the side window when not needed)
- Online detection sometimes slow reaction

Hello,

some questions to the new version and a migration path:

I installed TD3.0 portable in parallel to TD 2.0.

they can be installed in parallel but cannot be run at the same time. Is this correct and expected ?

are there plans having multiple instances running in at the same time on the same machine ?

is the new client fully compatible to the TD personal server ?

what is the suggested migration path to get my TD 2.0 spaces under control of the TD 3.0 installation ?

Thanks and Regards

Hi
TeamDrive 2 and 3 should run in parallel. You have to install it in different directories.
We are planing to allow the use on multiple instances at the same time later this year.
The personal server is full compatible to TeamDrive 3.
We changed the encryption in TeamDrive 3 to a higher level. You must upload the TeamDrive 2 spaces to TeamDrive 3 we will give customers double storage for 2 months in the TeamDrive cloud for migration.

Hi,

What do I need to do if I want to migrate from TD2 with TDPS to TD3?
Is or will their be a migration path for the TDPS Shares?

Cheers,

SFu

What's the upgrade path from TD 2 to TD 3, especially regarding versioning and deleted documents?

TeamDrive 2.4 and TeamDrive 3 are different technologies and there is no automatic upgrade possible.

Basically every team and user can decide individually when to migrate. A migration document is in the works.

You can continue to keep your TeamDrive 2.4 Spaces with old versions and old history.

In TeamDrive 3 you have to start with fresh Spaces. For a transition period of 2 months we are happy to provide everybody twice the Space in your cloud with no extra charge.
