Upload of a large file cannot be cancelled

I was putting some folders in my TD space. I failed to notice that one of the file contained 3 movies of nearly an hour. Largely above my limit of course.
Since then, the screen 'Free client limit hint' wants me to confirm the uploads with a button. There is apparently no button 'cancel this upload'.
I removed the large files from the local directory. Restarted TD, the computer, even tried a good night sleep. I slept well but the problem remains.
Did i overlook the obvious? (and thus prouve i am a novice).
I am ok with an answer in german, but you don't want to know how my written german is.
