Sort by Date Broken

Postby c273 » 31 May 2012, 00:06

In TD V2.4.161, when displaying directories and files in a space, clicking on the Date column to sort the files by last modified date is broken.

I am in the UK and my default date format is dd/mm/yyyy. Sorting seems to be performed on the characters displayed rather than the underlying date. For example, if I have files:

A last modified on 30/05/2012
B last modified on 09/05/2012
C last modified on 14/03/2007
D last modified on 06/05/2002
E last modified on 10/07/1998

they should be listed in order A, B, C, D, E but are in fact listed in order D, B, E, C, A due to the fact that 06 < 09 < 10 < 14 < 30.

Actually, sort by file size is also broken (same error, probably same program logic). It sorts on the numerical value - for example, this would be the sorted order of files of size 1MB, 2KB, 32bytes, 55MB, 64KB just because 1 < 2 < 32 < 55 < 64.

Obviously, the correct sort order based on size should be: 32bytes, 2KB, 64KB, 1MB, 55MB.

Is this likely to be fixed in V2?

I am waiting until the migration guide from V2 to V3 is published as the V3 Release Notes promise before trying V3 as I don't want to run both V2 & V3 and V1 Personal Server. Do you have any idea when it will appear on your we site?

Thanks

Hi
you can run TeamDrive 2 and 3 in parallel. The TeamDrive Server is able to work with TeamDrive2 and 3 Clients. We changed the encryption in TeamDrive 3. Out of that TeamDrive 2 and 3 spaces are not compatible. You must copy all data from TeamDrive 2 spaces into new TeamDrive 3 spaces.
