Viruses and Malware: What does TeamDrive recommend?
Posted: 26 Feb 2016, 17:20
TeamDrive will sync virtually any file added to a Space. Unfortunately, if someone syncs a virus or malware, it will be synced to the machines of all members of the Space. This could, in turn, affect the computers of other users.
Malware files are usually not activated unless a user clicks on them to open them. With that said, we recommend following good security practices, such as running anti-virus and malware detection applications as well as exercising a level of caution when running unknown files from other computers.
If your files have been corrupted or encrypted by malware, such as the infamous ‘ransomware’, you may be able to simply restore your files to the state before the malware took effect. Please contact us for more details (support@teamdrive.com).
